Interview of the artists and audience of "Annual Photo Exhibition of Mojdeh Art Gallery" with Iran Art News Agency
The participating artists in the” Annual Photo Exhibition of Mojdeh Art Gallery” as well as the audience of this exhibition say about this event in an interview with Iran Art News Agency:
Arman Stepanian: Photography is a very young art, and despite all these circumstances, it has managed to find its place among other fields of visual art. In my opinion, photography has the ability to be used in creating other artistic media. The establishment of “Annual Photo Exhibition of Mojdeh Art Gallery” is a pleasant event, and with its continuation, we can create a new opportunity to display and sell photos in the art community.
Yaqub Hozouri: I have lived and worked in Norway for 35 years and four years ago I decided to document a part of the year living and photographing in Iran. I used to photograph nature. Iran has many prominent and capable photographers, and part of their abilities have been displayed in this exhibition. I hope that with the continuation of this exhibition, more opportunities would be provided for the community of Iranian photographers.
Vahid Tahami: I participated in Mojdeh Art Gallery's Photo Exhibition last year, and I think this exhibition is more powerful than last year, and in this exhibition, we witness less stereotypical and theatrical photos, and this is one of the advantages of this exhibition. I am particularly interested in social documentary photography, and therefore I go on many trips, and I think that a part of the culture and biodiversity of the Iranian people can be recorded and displayed through photos.
Perham Dedehvar: Even though Babak Haghi has been the curator of five exhibitions, this is the first time that I have come to an exhibition curated by him and I have also presented a work in it. In my opinion, this exhibition is of very high quality and considering the small space that the gallery has, the arrangement of the photos is very good. Although the photos do not have a common content, the arrangement and harmony of the photos in this collection is so good that the viewer feels that the works have a common harmony. One of the good features of this exhibition is the variety of subjects. Repetition of the subject in most cases makes the audience tired. In this exhibition, the works of veteran and young artists are placed next to each other, and due to the fact that the names of the artists are not included next to the photos, more coherence has been created between the photos.
In the final part of his speech, he said: I got a lot of good ideas from this exhibition regarding the diversity and introduction of young faces of photography for setting up the Abbas Kiarostami exhibition next year.
Hossein Norouzi: Although there are many photo group exhibitions in Tehran and I have seen most of the photos displayed in this exhibition before, I think it is a good thing to have these works together in this collection with this arrangement and this is due to the good management of Mojdeh Tabatabaei regarding this event.
Bahram Hanafi: Mojdeh Art Gallery has always played a role in holding important events and exhibitions, and in my opinion, the Annual Photo Exhibition of Mojdeh Art Gallery is one of the most important events that took place in this gallery, and for the sale of works, it has been cultured according to the experience of holding photo auctions.
