Kourosh Adim

Kourosh Adim was born in 1971 in Babol and is a graduate of Biology.  He began his first experiences in visual arts with photography in 1992 and to date has held more than 7 solo exhibitions and over 100 group exhibitions in Iran and abroad.  Besides photography, Adim has also experimented in experimental printmaking and artist books, incorporating his prints and photographs into artist books using a transmedia approach. These are available to enthusiasts and researchers in media studies.  Adim has also published over 11 books, blending his literary and visual experiences. In recent years, he has centered his artistic work on this transmedia expression.  Over more than three decades of artistic and literary activity, by traversing the boundaries of media and the concepts within each, Adim showcases a new expression of form and content.  This allows the language of the image to reveal many unseen or rarely seen possibilities in a self-referential way.  Regarding concept and content, Adim addresses contemporary social and cultural experiences in Iran, to the extent that the traces of many cultural and political transformations in Iran can be observed and followed in all his works. Thus, he not only crosses the boundaries of media, but also transcends cultural boundaries, redefining norms, values, and beliefs.
